DUDE Probe

W've been spending a lot of time on making DUDE secure. The key of it all is DUDE PROBE. A small java program that probes your server and database. The output generated by DUDE PROBE is used by DUDE to make sure it is running in the correct environment. DUDE can only run on a server that is probed by DUDE PROBE.

DUDE CAN ONLY RUN ON YOUR MACHINE AFTER DUDE_PROBE HAS PROBED IT !

Getting started with DUDE PROBE :

download DUDE_PROBE.jar & DUDE_PROBE.CFG

DUDE_PROBE.jar
DUDE_PROBE.cfg - this is an example of a config file

edit DUDE_PROBE.CFG

Specify your username, email address, etc. All fields are enclosed by double quotes. Specify the output directory OUTPUT_DIR : this is the directory were the probe information will be written to. Specify your tablespaces and their datafiles :
TABLESPACE "tablespace name"
{
DATAFILE="/db1/datafile1.dbf"
DATAFILE="/db2/datafile2.dbf"
}
On windows platform : escape the backslash : example "c:\\db1\\datafile1.dbf"
WARNING : For every datafile you specify, the header is collected. These blocks are later used for hack/copy protection reasons. Therefore, the database must be down and stay down if you want to use DUDE !

run DUDE_PROBE

java -jar DUDE_PROBE.jar
You should use jre/jdk 1.2.2 or later

Upload the probe.out file that is generated in OUTPUT_DIR

Upload probe file here - alternatively, you may also email us the probe file.
Remember - DUDE can only be run on the machine you've ran DUDE_PROBE on !

after I've received probe.out I'll send you a secured version of DUDE !
